This year Chesapeake celebrated it’s 21st year at our location in Kearny Mesa.  In 1995 Joe and Rosa, a husband and wife team decided to venture in a proprietorship of a delicatessen and catering company serving the Kearny Mesa area and San Diego County in general. In 2013 the birth of SUSTAINABLE FOOD SERVICES, INC. As a woman owned company with Rosa as our President overseeing  the day to day operations, Ensuring Quality, Freshness and overall the best Customer experience possible. It is our commitment to Sustainability that drives us to utilize local products and produce when possible, Biodegradable earth-friendly disposables and catering ware, lowering water and energy use and implementing recycling plan to reduce our landfills.

Deli  

We feature Boars Head Meats. All Natural, Gluten Free, No Gmo products and offer an expanded menu with a wide variety of healthy gourmet choices designed to fit all tastes, nutritional needs, and budgets. We offer a variety of  bread choices, wraps, and Gluten Free Bread. 

Corporate Catering 

Since our establishment, Chesapeake Plaza Deli and Catering has built an impressive portfolio and relationships with prominent San Diego County businesses and charitable organizations. We are a full-service corporate catering company that specializes in all aspects of corporate functions, from a four-person informal meeting to a fifteen-hundred-person tailgate party. We customize menus to fit all budgets 

Coffee Cart Wholesale Products   

In 2009, Chesapeake Plaza Deli and Catering established a wholesale division, d.b.a. Chesapeake Fresh Coffee Cart Services. To support coffee cart operators throughout San Diego. We offer a full Gourmet menu with a variety of items including; sandwiches, wraps, salads, ready-to-go microwavable meals and healthy snacks.  

Medi+Meals  

In early 2005, Chesapeake Plaza Deli and Catering launched a product to address the needs of medical research facilities to feed subjects in a phase one Pharmaceutical studies. These studies may focus on issues ranging from diabetes, depression, gluten-free, obesity, to birth control studies. Specifically, the ongoing need had to do with extended research studies requiring outpatients to remain on site for days or even weeks without ever leaving the facility. The meals are created precisely, with ingredients calculated to conform to strict pharmaceutical protocols and dietary restrictions. We provide highly specified, healthy and nutritious meals which vary in precise caloric totals per setting. These breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack preparations may contain different caloric and culinary components, intended to conform with pharmaceutical restrictions and protocol.

Online Orders & Delivery  

Delivery has always been a key component of our business. Our original system using phone orders resulted in an average delivery time of 60 to 90 minutes. Seeing the need to evolve in the age of the internet, and recognizing the ability to improve on customer service dedication.  in 2009 we established an on-line ordering system. The new system reduced delivery time to an average of 30 to 45 minutes. Our gourmet deli and catering website has generated a devoted clientele, and has created a faster order time, Orders are received within seconds of transmission; they are received as a fax, or  a confirmation on the chef’s PDF in the kitchen. This results in working on those orders within a minute of receiving, resulting in faster delivery time through cordial and well-trained drivers.
